Ali embarked on a dynamic and enriching career path, starting with an industrial placement in Vehicle Dynamics at the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team from July 2021 to September 2022 in Brackley, England. Here, he played a pivotal role in running simulations and analyzing results to ascertain the optimal car setup for race weekends. His major project involved developing a data visualization tool in MATLAB to analyze race telemetry in the frequency domain. This tool, tested rigorously with both internal and external partners, became an integral part of the team’s race weekend analysis. Additionally, he supported the team by conducting competitor analysis during races, handling large datasets, and providing crucial information to strategists under high-pressure conditions. He coordinated with other departments to enhance simulation tools and automate tasks, evaluated high-level concept designs for future cars, and was highly commended for his problem-solving skills under pressure. His outstanding performance led Mercedes to extend his internship to maximize his contributions.

Prior to this, in April 2018, he completed a one-month internship at W Motors in Dubai, where he learned the basics of vehicle design using CAD software, observed the operations of a high-caliber vehicle manufacturing company, and presented on the impact of different fuels and engines on vehicle design. This experience provided him with valuable insights into automotive design and engineering.
